Simmer Saute in The Sausage!!! Haha… Another working trip in ATL making some certified classics. Jazze and I have so many similarities in producing and songwriting styles, so everytime we get in the studio its like magic! Today we worked out of Multi-Platinum Grammy Winning Producer Dallas Austin’s studio. I got a chance to write to my 1st Drumma Boy track, Jazze already had the hook idea laid down so I came in and murdered the verses, and we also laid a reference down to a record called “Biggest Fan” that I produced. Me and Jazze Co-wrote it and referenced it in like 30 mins. flat. By the time we did this blog we were on our 3rd record.
P.S. Dallas your black on black Rolls Royce Phantom in the driveway is motivation to keep working hard…In the words of Jazze Phinzzle himself “O Boi!” lol. Big ups to Greedy and Vawn, yall showed me much love and made sure I was straight like blood family.
Today I was in the studio working with the legendary Lil’ Keke & Big Pokey of the Screwed Up Click. I’ve previously had the pleasure to work with Lil’ Keke on his most recent “Loved By Few Hated By Many” album which I mixed 8 records, featured on “Fly” with Paul Wall and co-produced “Miss My Boys”. Pokey and I were familiar with each other from doing work with so many of the same people and my engineering on some of his records back in 2005 with Pearl Records.
But today was a major session for me, because as a young aspiring artist/musician I grew up listening to these guys, and they paved the way alongside DJ Screw for Houston’s signature slowed up sound. So, for them to be in the same room at the same time like the old Screw days was big for me. They are household names in my city and have collectively sold over a million records independently without any major label support.
Also featured on this song was C. $tone, Breezy and Overdose of the Block Boys. Big thanks goes out to my homies JR Martins, Big Will & Rodney P. Hunt for making everything possible. I produced, recorded and mixed the record, so you know its gonna be chhhurrrrazy!!! Keys and Ink – Awwwwww Yeeeeeee
That Pink That Green V2 Release, “That Pink That Green Vol.2″ FREE DOWNLOAD >>> http://tinyurl.com/ydq9xu3 Closed on a big deal + Upcoming projects I have goin on
Gimmie your honest feedback… Be REAL! All criticism accepted, BAD + GOOD!
For years I’ve been ghostwriting hooks for other ppl. but lately instead of just referencing hooks and having the major artist come in and re-sing artist and labels are liking my actual voice on records. So I just need your help, if Imma do it I gotta do it right.
Day 26’s Brian Angel + Muah! Watch me produce the track from beginning to end + I also give up a lil game on the truth behind Autotune and Melodyne. All this courtesty of the good people over at RPH and the homie JR Martins big ups to my homie Brian Angel… “Lets Go to Wurk!”
9/11 – In NYC Times Square w/ Miss Mykie, Dutch & Byron Wright. Just left from having a sit down at Starbucks w/ Mickey Factz. Its crazt tday because its also Jay-Z’s album release concert today. We’re just making our rounds hd’d to Bubba Gumps for good Shrimp & Wine.
Beautiful day in New York City at Bryant Park. Another one of those call missions w/ Miss Mykie. This time we’re preparing to meet w/ Columbia Records. Birds are getting fly crazy close today, they must can sense out of towners. Before we go tho, I have to stop by Quad Studios w/ my fellow Fullsail alumni Sara Beavens.
Working in the studio w/ my homegirl Lauren Seymour. One of the dopest songwriters in the game, we always get together and create epic joints. So its always a pleasure! Her and her “Gussy” word…haha
After a great BMI Awards and getting inspired its time to handle business. Me and my artist Miss Mykie at Sony building in New York getting ready for meeting at RCA Music Group…Big ups to my homegirl Cheska for coming thru.
