Yo Gotti says I got that heat
05.10.11 | 10:27 pm
The more I get to go new places and meet new people in this music industry. The more I realize that quote on quote celebrities are merely regular human beings. I must admit hands down as a producer & engineer Yo Gotti has to be one of the coolest hip-hop artist I’ve worked with thus far. We recently got a chance to knock out a couple records for his upcoming projects at Keys and Ink. His first words were “Let me hear what you got lil homie” and I had him bobbing at 1st play. The first record entitled “Balling Out” was a record myself and multi-platinum grammy nominated producer Zaytoven did on my last trip to Atlanta. After we collabed on a few records he was convinced that my keys and my ink were’nt a fluke.
Love Repair
04.15.11 | 4:15 pm

So… You know how at the beginning of the year you always have this huge list of new years resolutions. This year I’m gonna do this, This year I’m gonna change that. Well this year one of my hugest things was to be consistent with putting out independent projects on my artist Miss Mykie. What I’ve learned in this music industry is that as long as you have a talented marketable project, Being successful is just like life. The more you do it, the more people will know you do it. And if its good music, people will talk and it will become viral. So January 1st I made the decision to put together a project entitled “Love Repair” with a Feb. 14th Valentines Day release date. Everything from top to bottom was extremely sporadic, the entire 6 song (EP) album project was produced, written, recorded, mixed and mastered within a spand of 27 days to be exact. Half way into the project me and my team decided that instead of shooting music videos to each song, we wanting to shoot a short movie to tell the metaphoric story of “Love Repair”. This would be my 1st time ever trying to shoot anything like a movie. Me and Mykie sat down and wrote out the entire story and for the most part it was fairly easy because the songs titles alone were very vivid. But being that one of the songs was entitled “Open Heart Surgery” I was a little skeptical about how that was going to get portrayed on camera with a independent film having no budget. Smh… So checkout my 1st attempt as being a movie director. The Movie Theater Premier at Studio Movie Grill in Houston was beyond a success. Selling out Box Office. It was so many people we had to do 2 screenings due to fired code. The line was up the hallway, around the corner and out the door. LITERALLY.
INSIDE THE THEATER

LINE OUTSIDE THE THEATER

I was stressed yet estatic about all the people coming out to support what Miss Mykie and my team Keys and Ink is doing in the city. After shooting the movie I learned so much on the film side of things, such as keeping a low ISO, proper lighting, When to open and close and iris, shutter speed and more. It was an outstanding learning experience. As I am slowly becoming more educated on film, I look back at this film and realize all the mistakes I made. Though this was a rookie project, it still took alot to get this entire project complete in such a short amount of time.
You can download album for FREE here: Miss Mykie – Love Repair EP or you can BUY it for 5 bucks and some change on iTunes here: Miss Mykie – Love Repair EP Either way I just hope that you take listen to the entire album & checkout the movie. I put alot of hard work and long hours into this “Love Repair” project as a whole and I hope you guys enjoy. Thanks to: Roxell Richards, Andrew Benavides, DJ Young Samm, Marcus Manchild, Wayne Anderson and everybody else that is support the independent movement we are trying to create.

Me & Paul Wall Still On It
12.04.10 | 7:16 am
So A few weeks ago I got the call from the label saying that a song I did w/ Paul made his new album “Heart of a Champion”. So I was initially stoked about just being on another Paul Wall project.
But about a week after that I got a call from Paul saying that it had potential to be the next single dropped. So when we decided that’s what it was gonna be. I turned Paul and his label on to my close friend, the hottest young film director in L.A. period, Murray Mile. And the rest is pretty much history, next thing me and boy A.B. on the plane to LAX.Big thanks to Eddie of BeeMac Films, Jamee of Lution Media, The whole Expensive Taste fam Johnny Dang, C.Stone and the entire crew for making this video possible.
* UPDATE * Here’s the final version of the video. Should be airing on MTV, MTV2 & MTV Jams shortly. Much love to G-Dash and the whole Swishahouse family!
